Training the next generation

Among America’s top professional schools of journalism, Berkeley promotes traditional ideals of the truth-seeking craft while employing the newest techniques of the digital age. Our mission is built on the belief that students learn journalism by practicing it. With a renowned faculty, multi-disciplinary programs, and cutting-edge equipment, they learn to report from local communities through digital news sites. They travel to remote areas worldwide to report on pressing topics ranging from violence against women in developing countries to the global impact of climate change. Our students are learning advanced skills of reporting while practicing the craft at its highest levels.
