Berkeley’s pre-eminence as California’s flagship public research university is guaranteed by recruiting the best faculty, students and staff and providing them with a campus environment in which they can excel. Among other efforts, we increase the pool of talent in every segment of CAL through outreach and mentorship, provide research opportunities, scholarships and fellowships, and streamline wide-ranging campus efforts on equity and inclusion especially for those who, by dint of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or disability have been underserved or underrepresented. We are helping the University increase academic excellence and generate new ideas and new leaders to serve an incredibly diverse and rapidly changing world.
