The Campaign for the Graduate School of Education

Education for the real world

Too many of our most vulnerable youth are poorly served by today’s urban schools, creating an urgent need for the unparalleled intellectual resources that UC Berkeley provides. Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education prepares the brightest and most committed educators to lead critical change in some of our nation’s most challenging learning environments. Working with award-winning faculty to understand the policy and cultural issues that shape education today, our graduates hone their skills in metropolitan areas with high concentrations of students whose families are low-income and/or non-English speaking. Since these highly diverse youngsters represent a growing percentage of the public school students in our State and nation, GSE graduates are positioned to play an important role in our communities both now and in the future.
